Nolo:

Nolo is an icelandic duo of Ívar Björnsson and Jón Lorange. They started making music undir the Nolo name in the summer of 2009. Their first release was an EP on the underground label Brak Records, the album No-Lo-Fi. It was released in january 2010 and got them an award (Kraumur music award) and they received loads of good reviews. It is now sold out. Around that time they signed a deal with Kimi Records and started making the album Nology, which has just been released in Iceland.

Sudden Weather Change:

Sudden Weather Change are five artists/art students from Iceland, whose sound is best described as loud, dark and fierce. They embrace the 90s alt-rock aesthetic, turn up their guitars and show no mercy when it comes to feedback.

Their most recent output might bring to mind current bands like Women and Deerhunter. The lyrics are schizophrenic, cryptic and often found in the most random of places to create eccentric lyrical collages. However, their attitude on stage might bring to mind political riots in 70′s Paris or the annual Running of the Bulls in Pamplona.

After releasing an EP recorded in the basement of their local swimming pool in 2006, Sudden Weather Change have gathered huge praise from the Icelandic press along a with fiercely loyal fan base. Any foreign writers lucky enough to have witnessed the band performing have without fail been massively impressed if their writes-ups are anything to go by.

In April 2009 they released their first full-length album Stop! Handgrenade In The Name of Crib Death ‘nderstand? with Kimi Records in Iceland who went on to release the album in the rest of the world in October of the same year.

In 2010 Sudden Weather Change were awarded an Icelandic Music Award for best new act, released a 7″/mp3 single with Kimi Records dubbed “The Whaler”, and recorded a 4 track EP with producer/sounic artist Ben Frost. Along with frost Sudden teamed with old friends, electronic musicians/composers Þobbi and Doddi. This hotly anticipated EP, “Varrior” will be released in mid-october digitally and as a 10″ vinyl deluxe package in December.

Náttffari:

Náttfari was formed in 2000 and became part of the Icelandic alternative rock scene at the turn of the century. The band played many live shows in that period, they supported Trans Am, Low and Dianogah, and performed at the Iceland Airwaves in 2001 and 2002, receiveing good reviews. Their music can be described as dreamy and atmospheric, with dynamic and vivid drums and
elements from different directions such as rock, electronica, ambient, jazz and classical music.

Having never finished an LP and following a hiatus from 2002 the band reunited in 2010 to play Iceland Airwaves. The gig was selected as one of the 15 best acts on Airwaves that year by the Reykjavik Grapevine magazine. Later that year the band entered the studio to record a full length album. The album will be released in 2011 on Kimi records.
